Kamusta I’m Nathaniel and i am going to be talking about whenua and why we should be kaitiaki for our whenua.
Are you a clean and green person or are you dirty and leave your rubbish around? Do you take long showers that use heaps of water? If you are the second part I have a message for you.
I believe you need to be a kaitiaki – a protector and guardian of our land and resources. Because our land, mother earth, is like your own mum and I believe that you need to look after our mums.
There are lots of ways you can be a good kaitiaki.
- Defending the land by picking up rubbish
- Sending people into the land so that it can be protected
- Planting trees
- Taking short showers
- Watering trees
- Keeping our land clean
- recycling
- Keeping everything segregated
- Walking or going on a scooter instead of using a car
It is important to look after our environment because it is all we have. When it is gone, we will all be gone. So we should look after it for our future.
Thank you for listening to my speech everyone and I hope you enjoyed it. Remember to be a good kaitiaki to our land.
